Guns Save Lives

Our latest TV commercial takes on the anti-gun rhetoric of the media with 30 seconds of solid facts that disprove the common narrative.

FACT: 1,369 Americans use a firearm to defend themselves against a violent crime EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

That's a lot of lives saved.

By the way, those numbers come from an investigation by the Obama Administration.

In 2013 President Obama asked the CDC to investigate gun use in America. The study ordered by the CDC determined that:

"Almost all national survey estimates indicate that defensive gun uses by victims are at least as common as offensive uses by criminals, with estimates of annual uses ranging from about 500,000 to more than 3 million, in the context of about 300,000 violent crimes involving firearms in 2008."

The low end estimate of 500,000 annual uses of firearms to defend against a violent crime equals 1,369 uses PER DAY.

So as the media tries to make you believe that firearms in the hands of Americans equals countless deaths and anarchy in the streets, remember that the facts say something different.

For a more nuanced perspective, consider these numbers from Pew Research:

"In 2017, the most recent year for which complete data is available, 39,773 people died from gun-related injuries in the U.S., according to the CDC."

39,773 people in 365 days is equal to 109 people per day. And that number includes

"gun murders [14,542] and gun suicides [23,854], along with three other, less common types of gun-related deaths tracked by the CDC: those that were unintentional, involved law enforcement or whose circumstances could not be determined."

The thought of 109 people dying per day in any manner is tragic and concerning, but it must be followed with the fact that an exponentially higher number of lives are saved every single day through the proper use of a firearm.

To restrict the right of the American people to keep and bear arms will only result in more lives lost, and that is a fact supported by hard data rather than raw emotion.
