Spyderco's Zome knives represent a fusion of this traditional artistry with our lightweight models featuring injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handles. Each handle starts with a light base color and undergoes meticulous hand dyeing by skilled Japanese artisans. Using techniques reminiscent of traditional hiki-zome (brush dyeing), multiple colors of dye are carefully applied by hand, resulting in unique and distinctive patterns. These special dyes fully permeate the FRN, ensuring a permanent and vibrant finish.
