By minimizing brass deformation at the neck, they help preserve case life and boost accuracy. These bushings work best with high-end brass that has consistent neck wall thickness. The correct size can be calculated by subtracting 0.002 - 0.003 inches from a loaded cartridge's outside neck diameter or by doubling the neck wall thickness, adding the bullet diameter and subtracting 0.001 inches. Keeping a range of sizes on hand ensures optimal results.
