CT Ballistic Silvertip bullets combine all the features of Nosler Ballistic Tip hunting or varmint bullets, but with the addition of an advanced Lubalox external treatment that reduces fouling and creates less barrel wear to promote longer barrel life. Streamlined polymer tip resists deformation in the magazine, provides a streamlined meplat for flat trajectory, and initiates positive expansion on impact with small and medium game.

Lubalox is the trade name Winchester uses to describe a black oxide process. It is a very thin oxide bullet coating, often compared to the bluing on a steel firearm.
