A full length sizing die is engineered to resize the entire cartridge case, as opposed to only the neck. In contrast to neck-sizing dies, which exclusively resize the neck portion, full length sizing dies offer versatility and are compatible with any rifle chambered for the same cartridge. Upon firing, the brass case expands to conform to the rifle's chamber. Although the case contracts slightly after firing, it may not revert to its original dimensions. The full length sizing die corrects this by resizing both the neck and body of the case, effectively eliminating any bulges or irregularities introduced during firing.
